Phones & Internet

Business phones and internet, picked and set up for you

I compare carriers, recommend a phone system that fits how you work, and handle the setup, so you are not stuck on hold with a provider.

Phone and internet quotes are confusing on purpose. Different names, different contract terms, installation fees that show up later, and a salesperson who only sells one carrier. Most owners sign whatever sounds close and hope.

Old copper phone lines are also being phased out, and carriers have been filing to retire them. If your phones, alarm, fax or card machine still depend on a traditional line, it is worth knowing before a notice arrives.

I am BizIT Consultants, a one-person South Florida IT consultancy founded in 2017, with 23+ years in technology. I look at what you actually use, compare carrier options, recommend a phone system, and set it up. You reach me directly, and I come on site across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Hablo español.

Problems I help businesses solve

  • Quotes you cannot compare

Every carrier packages speed, price and contract length differently. It is hard to tell which offer is actually better for your office.

  • Old phone lines going away

Traditional copper business lines are being retired. Alarms, fax, card machines and elevator phones sometimes quietly depend on them.

  • Dropped calls and bad audio

Phones over the internet only sound good when the network behind them is set up properly. Poor WiFi or a weak connection shows up on every call.

  • Lost during storms and outages

When the power or the connection goes, so do your phones. Many offices have no plan to forward calls or keep working.

FAQ

Common questions

Is my business phone line going away?

Carriers have been working to retire traditional copper phone service, and timing varies by area. I can review what you have and help you plan a move before you get a deadline. Check your carrier's notice for your specific dates.

What is VoIP and is it right for a small business?

VoIP means your phones work over the internet instead of a traditional line. It suits most offices and makes it easier to take calls on a mobile app or from home. It works well only with a solid network behind it, which is part of what I check.

Can I keep my phone number?

Usually yes. Moving a number to a new provider is called porting. I plan it so your number keeps working and so you do not cancel the old service too early.

What about 911 on a business phone system?

Federal rules for multi-line phone systems, including Kari's Law and RAY BAUM'S Act, cover direct 911 dialing and sending a location with the call. I help set up and test your system with that in mind. I am not a lawyer, so check the current FCC requirements for your business.

How much will it cost?

It depends on how many users, which phones and which connection you need. I quote per engagement after a short conversation, and I show you what is included and what is not.

What happens to my phones in a hurricane or power outage?

A power or internet outage can take cloud phones offline. I can plan call forwarding to mobile phones, a backup connection and power backup for key equipment before a storm.
