Security Cameras & Networking

Security cameras and WiFi that work every day

I plan and install business WiFi, network equipment, cameras and recorders, then stay around to support them.

Many small offices run on a consumer router in a closet, WiFi that drops in the back room, and cameras that were installed years ago by someone no longer around. When something fails, nobody knows the password or where the footage is stored.

Cameras and WiFi depend on the same network. Cameras need power, cabling, a recorder with enough storage, and a network that does not slow everything else. Planning them together avoids most problems.

I am BizIT Consultants, a one-person South Florida IT consultancy since 2017, with 23+ years in technology including enterprise cybersecurity and identity management. I design and install WiFi (including UniFi), network equipment, cameras and NVRs, and you reach me directly. I travel to Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Hablo español.

Problems I help businesses solve

  • WiFi that drops where you need it

Dead spots, slow guest WiFi and one overloaded router make staff and customers frustrated.

  • Cameras nobody can access

Old recorders with lost passwords, missing footage or views that never worked leave you without answers after an incident.

  • Footage that is gone too soon

Storage fills up and overwrites old recordings. Many owners find out how long footage lasts only when they need it.

  • Unprotected devices on your network

Cameras and recorders left with default passwords or open to the internet are an easy target.

Why BizIT

What you get working with me

  • One plan for network and cameras

Everything is designed together, so cameras do not slow your WiFi and your WiFi does not drop the cameras.

  • Equipment you can manage

You get documented passwords, accounts and settings, so you are never locked out of your own system.

  • Straight answers on storage

I explain how many days of footage your setup keeps and what it would take to keep more.

  • June 1 to November 30

The official Atlantic hurricane season, which is why phones, internet and recording need a plan for power and connection loss.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you install UniFi equipment?

Yes, I design and install UniFi WiFi and network equipment, and I can also work with other brands when they suit the job better.

How long will my cameras keep footage?

It depends on the number of cameras, their resolution, recording mode and the size of the drive. During planning I estimate this and tell you what a bigger drive would add.

Do I need to post signs or get consent for cameras or audio?

Florida has rules about recording audio and about cameras in private spaces such as restrooms. Audio recording generally requires the consent of the people recorded under Florida's wiretap law. I am not a lawyer, so check the current rules for your situation, and I can turn audio off or place cameras to avoid private areas.

Can I watch cameras from my phone?

Yes. I set up remote viewing with named accounts and secure settings, and avoid opening your network to the internet carelessly.

Will cameras slow down my internet?

Not if the network is planned for them. I put cameras on their own network segment and size the connections so video does not compete with your daily work.

What about storms and power outages?

Power backup for the recorder and switch keeps recording through short outages. I can help you plan that and put important equipment above flood-prone spots.
